Sweet, savory, and seriously addictive—these Honey Garlic Chicken Bowls are a weeknight win. Loaded with tender chicken, crisp veggies, and a sticky glaze over rice, this one’s a flavor bomb you’ll crave again and again.
Ingredients:
For the chicken:
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts), cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp olive oil
For the sauce:
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp fresh grated ginger (optional but delicious)
For the bowl:
- 2 cups cooked jasmine or brown rice
- 1 cup steamed broccoli
- 1/2 cup shredded carrots
- 1/2 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- Green onions & sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions:
- Coat the chicken: Toss chicken pieces with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Sear it up: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
- Make the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and ginger.
- Simmer: Pour the sauce into the skillet with the chicken. Let it bubble and thicken, stirring occasionally, for about 3-4 minutes.
- Assemble bowls: Add rice to your bowls. Top with honey garlic chicken, steamed broccoli, shredded carrots, and bell peppers.
- Finish strong: Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve warm and devour!
