Cinnamon Orange Rolls Recipe
Ingredients
– 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
– ¼ cup granulated sugar
– 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
– ½ tsp salt
– ¾ cup warm milk
– 3 tbsp softened butter
– 1 egg
– Zest of 1 orange
Filling
– ½ cup brown sugar
– 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
– Zest of 1 orange
– 2 tbsp melted butter
Glaze
– 1 cup powdered sugar
– 3 tbsp fresh orange juice
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until bubbly.
- Add softened (not melted) butter, egg, orange zest, and salt.
- Gradually add flour and knead until a soft dough forms.
- Let dough rise in a greased bowl, covered, until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Roll dough into a rectangle on a floured surface. Brush with melted butter.
- Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and orange zest. Sprinkle over dough.
- Roll dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 slices.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish. Let rise again for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm rolls.
- Serve fresh and enjoy the harmonious blend of flavors!
