Asian Beef Lettuce Wraps
Savory, tangy, and fresh! These Asian Beef Lettuce Wraps are perfect for a light yet satisfying meal—packed with flavor, crunch, and a hint of heat.
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sriracha (optional for heat)
- 1/2 cup water chestnuts, finely chopped
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Butter lettuce leaves (or romaine hearts)
- Sesame seeds & chopped cilantro (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the beef: In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Add aromatics: Stir in garlic, ginger, and chopped onion. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until fragrant and soft.
- Build flavor: Add soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha. Stir well to combine and simmer for 3–4 minutes.
- Finish it off: Stir in chopped water chestnuts and green onions. Cook for 1 more minute, then remove from heat.
- Serve: Spoon beef mixture into washed and dried lettuce cups. Top with sesame seeds and fresh cilantro.
- Wrap & enjoy: Fold up the lettuce and take a bite—pure flavor bomb!
